DC Fire Hockey Tournament Returns for Another Powerful Weekend on the Ice

This spring, teams from across the country returned to the ice for the annual DC Fire Hockey Tournament — a weekend of hockey, camaraderie, and support for the DC Firefighters Burn Foundation.

Held over Easter weekend, the tournament brought together first responders, law enforcement, military, and public safety teams for three days of competition and community. Team registration once again reached full capacity this year, continuing the tournament’s long tradition of growth and support.

This year also marked an exciting new partnership with the Washington Capitals and MES, helping expand the reach and impact of the event even further. Through the partnership, the Capitals Alumni Association donated $15,000 to support the DC Firefighters Burn Foundation and the burn survivor community across the DMV.

In total, the event raised XXXXXX - funds that will be used to support burn survivors across the DC metro area.

Another incredible weekend on the ice — and another reminder of what can happen when community, competition, and purpose come together.

The Washington Capitals also produced a special feature highlighting the tournament, its growth over the years, and the powerful connection between the first responder and burn survivor communities.

As shared in the feature, the tournament is about far more than hockey. It’s about fellowship, support, and showing up for people recovering from life-changing burn injuries — especially children and injured firefighters.
