ABOUT THE DC FIREFIGHTERS BURN FOUNDATION
The DC Firefighters Burn Foundation (DCFFBF) is a firefighter-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2004 to prevent burn injuries and improve the quality of life for burn survivors.
Established by active and retired Washington, D.C. firefighters, the foundation provides comprehensive support to burn injured firefighters, children and adult burn survivors, families, and the burn care professionals who heal them through hospital funding, family assistance, burn camps, adaptive retreats, peer support, education initiatives, and provider training.
For more than 20 years, DCFFBF has directed over $10 million toward burn treatment, rehabilitation, and survivor aftercare — standing alongside families from the moment of injury and beyond. From funding critical care to supporting injured firefighters and their loved ones, DCFFBF exists for one reason: when lives are changed in an instant, no one should face the aftermath alone.
Founded by firefighters. Sustained by community. Driven by purpose.
