BERT. W. MARTIN BURN SURVIVOR RETREAT
A week of healing and adventure for adult burn survivors in Crested Butte, Colorado — blending outdoor challenges with peer support and reflection.
Hosted in partnership with the Adaptive Sports Center, the retreat blends outdoor challenges with peer support and reflection — helping survivors rebuild confidence, find community, and rediscover what’s possible after a life-changing injury.
It’s a chance to swap hospital walls for mountain trails, to push past limits, and to share stories with people who truly get it. Many survivors describe it as a turning point — a week that reminds them they’re capable, resilient, and never defined by their injuries.
“You come here thinking you’re going to learn to ski. But really, you leave remembering who you are—and knowing you’re not alone.”
We’re deeply grateful to the Bert W. Martin Foundation for supporting this experience, making it possible for survivors to not just recover, but to rediscover joy, strength, and community.
