Taking Aim for Children’s Burn Camp

On July 31, IAFF Local 1619 hosted the 4th Annual Chief Nick Finamore Memorial Sporting Clays Shoot at the Prince George’s County Trap & Skeet Center, bringing together firefighters, friends, families, and supporters for a day of friendly competition in support of the DC Firefighters Burn Foundation’s Children’s Burn Camp.

This year, 115 shooters took to the course, helping raise significant funds for Children’s Burn Camp.

Now in its fourth year, the event continues to grow while honoring the memory and legacy of Chief Nick Finamore. Participants spent the day making their way through the sporting clays course, enjoying some friendly competition and, most importantly, coming together around a cause that means so much to our Foundation.

Funds raised through the event directly support Children’s Burn Camp and help give young burn survivors the opportunity to spend time with other kids who understand their experiences. Camp is a place to try new things, build confidence, form friendships, and—maybe most importantly—simply have fun and be a kid.

We are incredibly grateful to IAFF Local 1619, the Finamore family, event organizers, sponsors, volunteers, and every shooter who helped make this year’s event such a success. Their continued commitment to Children’s Burn Camp makes an impact that extends far beyond a single day on the course.
