FAMILY SERVICES TEAM
When a firefighter is seriously injured, the recovery affects their body, their family, and their future. We’re there from day one—our Family Services Team works hand-in-hand to provide on-site coordination, communication, and comfort for families. As healing continues, we connect injured firefighters and loved ones with trained peers who have walked this path and fund restorative experiences like Firefighter Burn Survivors Week and Phoenix World Burn Congress.
Since 2004, the DC Firefighters' Burn Foundation has been a steadfast source of support for the families of firefighters in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area who have been injured or experienced line-of-duty medical emergencies. Through our Family Services Team, we ensure that loved ones can remain close during critical hospital stays by covering the cost of hotels, meals, and parking when a firefighter is admitted to a hospital in Washington, D.C.
