Chief Nick Finamore Memorial Sporting Clays Shoot
Honoring a legacy of service — one shot at a time.
Each summer, shooters, firefighters, and friends gather for the Chief Nick Finamore Memorial Sporting Clays Shoot — a day of competition, camaraderie, and community, all in support of the D.C. Firefighters Burn Foundation’s Children’s Burn Camp.
Hosted at the Prince George’s County Trap and Skeet Range, the event invites participants to test their skills across 50 clay targets in a friendly, team-based tournament. Shooters can bring their own equipment or use rentals provided with registration, which includes shells, a light breakfast, and a post-shoot lunch. Whether you’re an experienced marksman or new to the sport, it’s a day filled with friendly competition, good company, and a shared commitment to giving back.
The event honors Chief Nicholas “Nick” Finamore, a 53-year veteran of the Prince George’s County Fire Department whose leadership, bravery, and service left a lasting impact on the fire community. Chief Finamore’s legacy continues through this event — supporting the next generation of survivors and the programs that help them heal.
All proceeds from the Clay Shoot benefit the D.C. Firefighters Burn Foundation’s Children’s Burn Camp, a program that provides young burn survivors from the Washington metropolitan area a week of fun, confidence-building, and connection in a safe, supportive environment.
